ABC produces yet another gay character this week on Desperate Housewives ... make that two. The newest hysteria to Wisteria? Bob and Lee (played by Tuc Watkins and Kevin Rahm, respectively) The lucky gay couple, along with their pet-pal Rafael, are parked next to Susan -- who incidently steals their dog in an attempt to win their affection. Confused? So is Susan.

The addition makes ABC the standout in GLBT representation, according to an earlier GLAAD study showing that there are 16 gay of 710 regular characters on the six major networks today: ABC with 15 and one on NBC. With the addition, 17 are now hosted by ABC with 3 on Desperate Housewives alone: Andrew Van de Camp, Bob, and Lee.

Susan: I'm Susan I live next door.
Bob: Oh hi, I'm Lee's partner, Bob.
Susan: Oh! You're partners -- what kind of business? You know, whatever it is, just don't let the neighborhood association know you work out of your house. They're so not cool.
Bob: Actually, we're life partners.
Susan: oh...Oh! (pause) OH!! That's super! Haha, yeah, I've seen a lot of cable so I "GET" it ... you're just great!
Lee: Uh, thank you? I hope we can live up to your stereotype.

Carpoolers is a SMASH! The pilot was sidesplitting, witty, and real world -- another refreshing, and short!, ABC addition to the Fall Season. It might just be the new 30 Rock. Its only downside is that it follows another new 30-minute comedy, CAVEMEN.

If you watch nothing else this fall, take 30 minutes for this weekly comedy every Tuesday at 7:30 on ABC (Sunflower Broadband ch. 9). Just don't pre-party with Cavemen.

Are Cavemen going extinct? If we're talking full-fledged Cro-Magnon, or the new ABC comedy, extinction happened long ago.

After an abrupt episode-ending, the show left me thinking, WTF? Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible, it just wasn't epic. Girl meets boy. Boy is caveman. Girl has caveman fetish. ?!

GEICO would have been better served delivering the wise-cracking British Gecko or at the VERY least, the "Tiny House" Reality Show from the commercial-gag we all fell for a few years ago.

Cavemen airs(ed) Tuesdays at 7:00 on ABC (Sunflower Broadband ch. 9).

"Are you a robot or an alien?"

The most anticipated premiere of the Fall '07 season was slightly less heroic than expected, but not totally deflated.

We return, as the title suggests, four months after Peter Petrelli went Atom-Bomb to find: The Bennets living a "normal" life, Mohinder finding a new job (giving Mutant Trap, Co. a taste of its own medicine), Hiro stuck in the 1600s having just met the legend-turned-Gringo Takezo Sensei (a new character a la David Anders), and Matt Parkman with his newly (adopted?) daughter Molly who is frighteningly articulate and quite the standout in this episode. What we don't find, unfortunatley, are the likes Niki and Sylar, and they were missed.

We've also added four new characters: Nicholas D'agosto, a flying-friend of Claire's, who we thank for this blog's quote, Mutant Maya and her brother Alejandro trying to cross over into the United States, and a man of the Midas Touch who goes uncredited as Monhinder's new boss.

The scenes drudged on -- especially between Hiro and Takezo, and the ambiguous storyline was more frustrating than envigorating. But chasing the alien that was Season 1 of this show (FANTASTIC television) has to be more than overwhelming. Hope there's enough heroism in the story-storming room to save this season, for the first episode was curiously robotic.
